AAT Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship

Bookkeeping and VAT

• Processing purchase and sales transactions.
• Completing bank reconciliations.
• Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns.

Accounts preparation

• Assisting with sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts.
• Preparing supporting schedules and year-end working papers.

Accounting software

• Using Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
• Using Excel and other digital accounting systems.

Compliance and professional development

• Learning about professional ethics, data protection and anti-money laundering requirements.
• Developing the practical skills and knowledge required for the AAT qualification.

Chartered Accountant: Pursue further qualifications, such as ACCA or ACA, to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant.
