What you would do

Built in 1520, our historic pub the Prospect of Whitby is the oldest riverside tavern in the country. Sat in Wapping, on the edge of the Thames and surrounded by dockland areas, it's the perfect place to rest, in a family-friendly atmosphere. All sorts of people from sailors to British movie stars, have tread over our original 400-year-old floor.

Day to day

As a Bar and Waiting Apprentice with Urban Heritage, you'll be the face of our company, making sure that every guest leaves with a smile on their face and a full belly. Whether it's greeting customers with a warm welcome or remembering that favourite spot they like to sit in, you know how to make them feel special.

As a Bar and Waiting Apprentice, you will...

  • Provide customers with a heartfelt and memorable experience each and every time they visit
  • Be the insider behind the bar, offering recommendations to customers
  • Prepare and present drinks that meet specifications and customer expectations
  • Assist in greeting, serving food and looking after our customers whilst they dine with us
  • Make sure the bar is always safe, legal, and clean, and any issues are dealt with as quickly and safely as possible

What your apprenticeship includes:

  • You won't need to attend college; our apprenticeships are delivered through work-based training which includes a mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote Team calls with your Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks. You will also have a mentor within the workplace to support you
  • Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths, with support tailored to your needs (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents)
  • Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Learner Coach including feedback sessions

Food and beverage team member (level 2)

Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship - Food and Beverage Service L2 including Functional Skills in Maths and English.

Training provider: LIFETIME TRAINING GROUP LIMITED

Working week

Shift work including bank holidays, evenings and weekends. Exact shifts to be confirmed.
