What you would do

Take your hairdressing career to the next level with a Level 3 Advanced & Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship. You’ll develop advanced cutting, colouring, styling and creative techniques while working in a professional salon environment. Ideal for an experienced Level 2 hair professional.

Day to day

You will develop advanced skills in:

  • Fashion-forward trends and creative hairdressing techniques
  • Precision and personalised cutting
  • Creative finishing and dressing techniques
  • Advanced creative colouring
  • Smoothing and strengthening services
  • Detailed hair and scalp analysis
  • Advanced colour conversion services
  • Creative sectioning techniques
  • Colour formulation, blending, shading and toning
  • Colour correction, including removing artificial colour and correcting highlights and lowlights
  • Working with semi-permanent, quasi-permanent and permanent colours, pre-lighteners and colour removers
  • Professional consultation and aftercare
  • Problem solving and adapting your approach to meet client requirements

What you would study

Advanced and creative hair professional (level 3)

Level 3 Advanced Hair Apprenticeship Standard, including:

  • Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours
  • Level 3 Diploma for Hair Professionals
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills maths (if required)
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment

Training provider: WIRRAL METROPOLITAN COLLEGE
