What you would do

This is a fantastic opportunity to have an apprenticeship as a wood machinist. The successful candidate in this role will have full hands-on and experience of various wood machines. All based at our factory on site cutting the raw board materials as well as tape edging, ready for our in-house cabinetry shop.

Day to day

  • Setting up and operating sawing machinery
  • Cut timber components to size and specification
  • Learn how to programme and optimise digital cutting equipment
  • Set up and operate edgebanding machinery to apply edging tape to products.
  • Process raw board materials and drill components.
  • Safely move furniture components around factory site to different departments.
  • Ensure good housekeeping of work area and machinery

What you would study

Wood machinist (level 2)

  • Training will be in the work place
  • Reviews every 6 weeks with a qualified tutor

Training provider: NORTH LANCS. TRAINING GROUP C.I.C.

Working week

Monday - Thursday 7.00am - 5.00pm, 2 x 10 minute breaks (paid), 1 x 30 minute lunch (unpaid). Any member of staff under 18 will only be on 32 hours week due to only being able to work 8 hours per day. When they turn 18 they will go on the 38 hours week.
