What you would do

Could you bring your passion and culinary skill to Defence? If so, we'd love to hear from you. Gain a nationally recognised qualification with hands-on experience, learn from experienced chefs, and develop the skills needed for a successful career in hospitality.

Day to day

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to company standards and portion specifications
  • Ensure food is stored correctly to maintain quality and minimise waste
  • Assist with processing food orders and stock management
  • Receive, check, and store deliveries appropriately
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Operate kitchen machinery and equipment safely and correctly
  • Adhere to all food safety, food hygiene, and health and safety procedures
  • Support the wider kitchen team with day-to-day operations and service delivery
  • Complete food safety checks and always comply with food information regulations
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support an efficient catering service

Working week

37 hours per week, rotating shifts 5 out of 7 days per week.

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate at grade PASS (desired)
