What you would do

An opportunity has arisen with Touchwood Pharmacy for a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprentice. You will support the pharmacy team with taking in and handing out prescriptions, dispensing medicines, providing excellent customer service and selling over-the-counter medicines.

Day to day

  • Taking in and handing out prescriptions
  • Receiving and ordering stock
  • Selling over-the-counter medicines
  • Dispensing
  • Advising patients about medications
  • Undertaking final checks on the prescriptions

What you would study

Pharmacy technician (integrated) (level 3)

Training provider: INSPIRE MIDDLESEX COLLEGE LTD

Working week

Shifts to be confirmed, with four days based in the pharmacy and one paid day at college.

What you need

  • GCSE English at grade 4 (essential)
  • GCSE Maths at grade 4 (essential)

After the apprenticeship

  • Can progress to working as a pharmacy technician in a hospital, community pharmacy, air force and pharmaceutical industries

  • They can, for example, specialise in areas such as quality control, staff training, information technology, supplies procurement, clinical trials or medicines information services
  • Other roles may include managing a section of the pharmacy department
